Tinos 2015 3rd International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management

From 2-4 July 2015, the ISWM- TINOS Conference was successfully organized via the collaboration of Dynamic Vision and Envireco SA. The conference was attended by more than 250 participants from all over the world within the framework of the LIFE+ ISWM- TINOS project (LIFE10 ENV/GR/610). The main objective of ISWM-TINOS project was the development and evaluation of an Integrated Solid Waste Management scheme for solid waste in Tinos in line with the Waste Framework Directive 2008/98/ΕC. The Conference took place in the Museum of Marble Crafts and provided the opportunity for scientists and professionals from government departments, Municipalities, private institutions, research and education institutions to come together, exchange the most recent ideas, techniques and experiences in all areas of municipal solid waste management. The conference had a very positive impact and offered valuable information at a time when public local authorities are summoned by the EU to submit their plans for waste management for the period 2017-2020.
